IQNA – The success and popularity of the Ramadan-special TV show ‘Mahfel’ have been achieved thanks to the good planning and efforts of the organizers.

Iranian qari Hamed Shakernejad

This is according to Hamed Shakernejad, a renowned Iranian qari who has served as an expert in the TV program both in the first and second seasons.

Screening the second season of the popular program began on IRIB’s TV 3 channel on the first day of the sacred month of Ramadan on Tuesday.

It is broadcast just before sunset every day during the holy month, offering a spiritual oasis for viewers as they prepare to break their fast.

With a primary focus on the Quran, the program aims to enrich the brief moments of respite for fasting individuals through insightful discussions and captivating recitations.

For a good program, there needs to be striving hard, he noted, referring to Verse 39 of Surah An-Najm of the Holy Quran: “And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for.”

This is a Quranic program and divine blessing has also been at work to make it popular for sure, he added.

“When you do something well and thus receive divine blessing, you’ll have no worries (about its success),” he said.

Shakernejad further described it as an honor to be able to serve as an expert in both seasons of the TV show.

He was also asked about some reports that suggested the presence of an Egyptian Quran expert at the program. Shakernejad said selecting the experts was the done by the producer team and he had no role in it but anyway he would welcome the participation of an Egyptian qari as an expert at the program.

Ramadan, which began on Tuesday, March 12, this year, is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar.

It is a period of prayer, fasting, charity giving and self–accountability for Muslims around the world.

The Quran was revealed to the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) heart in this month.

During Ramadan, Muslims fast (abstain from foods and drinks) from sunrise to sunset.

They also devote a considerable amount of time during this month to reading and contemplating the Quran.
