Over 2.5 Million Copies of Quran Printed in Iran in One Year

TEHRAN (IQNA) – In the past Iranian calendar year, which ended on March 20, more than 2.5 million copies of the Quran were printed in the country, an official said.

Azizollah Mortazavi, director of proofreading department at the Dar-ol-Quran Kareem Organization, told IQNA that 250 permissions were issued in the year 1395 (March 2016-March 2017) for publishing 2,602,000 copies of the Holy Book.

He added that the number of the Qurans published a year before stood at 2,732,300.

The Dar-ol-Quran Kareem Organization is affiliated to Iran’s Islamic Development Organization.

It oversees Quranic activities and grants permissions for publication of the Quran in the country.
