Karachi Islamic Banking Seminar Today

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A seminar on Islamic Banking is slated to be held in the Pakistani port city of Karachi on Tuesday, September 15.

Titled ‘Islamic Banking Awareness’, the open seminar is being organized by Bank Alfalah in collaboration with Sheikh Zayed Islamic Center, University of Karachi.


A number of leading Pakistani economists and bank mamangers will be present at the event.


Registered participants will receive certificate of participation, according to the organizers.


In recent years Islamic Banking has been growing in both Muslim and non-Muslim countries.


The International Financial Services Authority estimates the assets controlled by Islamic banks at the global level to be around 1 trillion dollars which is growing at a pace of 10-15% per year.


Experts believe with about 1.5 billion Muslims worldwide Islamic financial and economic model seems to be a feasible solution for the future.
