Iran’s Quran and Etrat Nat’l Festival Opens in Isfahan

The 29th edition of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Quran and Etrat National Festival fro Students was inaugurated in a ceremony held Tuesday night in the central city of Isfahan.

The festival features competitions in various fields, including recitation and memorization of the Quran, Adhan (call to prayers), prayer recitation, Seerah of the Infallibles (AS), Quranic calligraphy, and Quranic arts.
More than 400 university students from different provinces of the country are taking part in the national Quranic event, which will run until Friday, November 14.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Mehdi Yusefi, Chancellor of Isfahan Payame Noor University, which is hosting the festival, welcomed the participants and said the university is proud to be on the path of serving the Holy Quran.
Messages by grand Ayatollahs Javadi Amoli and Mazaheri were also read out at the ceremony.
The festival also includes an exhibition featuring the Quranic activities and accomplishments of the country’s university students.
