Ignoring Quran’s Teachings, Root Cause of Many Problems in Muslim World: Memorizer
Wahid Munawar Azmi, who represented the Arab country in the recent international Quran competition held in Iran, told IQNA that in order to solve the problems and challenges in the Muslim world, a return to the sublime teachings of the Holy Book is necessary.
He also underlined the importance of the Quran in the unity of the Muslim Ummah and regretted that some Muslims pay no attention to this important role.
Elsewhere, the Jordanian referred to his Quran learning and said he started memorizing the Holy Book at an early age.
He managed to learn the entire Quran by heart at the age of 14 after taking courses in his country’s Dar-ol-Quran centers.
Azmi said it was his first participation in an international Quran contest and described the level of the competition and its organization as very good.
The 36th International Quran Competition of the Islamic Republic of Iran as well as international Quran contests for women, visually-impaired, seminary students and school students were organized in the country on April 10-14 with the participation of Qaris and Quran memorizers from 84 countries.
