Iran’s Movahedi Recites Quran at Tunisia Int’l Contest

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iran’s representative in the 16th edition of Tunisia’s international Quran competition showcased his Quranic talents on the third day of the contest.

 

Mohammad Hassan Movahedi was asked by the panel of judges to recite verses 36 to 42 of Surah al-Anaam of the Holy Quran.

He had a good performance that drew applause from the audience, Fars reported.

The competition, named after Allamah Bin Arafah, started on Saturday and will run until Thursday.

It is being held on memorization and recitation of the Holy Quran.

Iranian memorizer of the entire Quran Mohammad Javad Moradi had also been scheduled to compete in the category of memorization, but he could not travel to Tunisia on time due to some problems.

Other countries participating in this year’s edition include Palestine, Lebanon, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Iraq, and Qatar.
