The Iranian Supreme Council of Quran hosted the event, which began with recitation of verse from the Quran by Nosratollah Hosseini, followed by an address by Mohammad Taqi Mirzajani, deputy of the council.
He congratulated those who successfully passed the course and received recitation permissions.
According to Mirzajani, 55 Iranian Qaris and memorizers have taken such courses so far and received permission for different styles of Quran recitation.
He said the courses have been organized over the past year in 13 provinces of the country with the support of the council and the Center for Quran Printing and Publishing.
The Egyptian Quran master also addressed the ceremony, saying that such courses, known as Iqra, are common in the Muslim world.
Osfour said the Qaris taking the course recite the entire Quran before the Sheikh and a number of others to receive recitation permission.
